Marathon 6 - Kilkenny

Our location in Inistioge, Co. Kilkenny, was the film location for Maeve Binchy's "Circle of Friends." Today we made 15 new ones. To all of you a huge thank you for what was an amazing day. If you have never been to this village, go! It is stunning.

Six loops of a "trail" course all under tree foliage. It was a tough course as it climbed and fell continuously on rough terrain, with heavy concentration needed to ensure we remained injury free. Both of us felt OK today but we dropped the pace a little in order to be respectful of the many days that lie ahead of us.

Special mention to three ladies; to Kate who completed her 8th marathon, Teresa who completed her 32nd and to Gerry's other half Jacinta who finished her first ever half marathon, well done to all of todays amazing people. Final word of thanks to Sabrina and Teresa who spent over an hour with Ken on the physio table (he always loves the massages)  trying to sort out his knee problem. Avril Lenehan in Lenehan's Bar literally gave over her house today to set up physio and HQ for the day. A lovely lady.

Both of us can report that the bodies, whilst creaking a little,  continue to hold up and we will hopefully will complete week one tomorrow in Waterford.
